Our good friend UE-OMJ had recently welcomed his little boy “little dancing dude” into the world and we were gutted to live so far away from him to just pop over so an early morning road trip was planned!

After leaving hours too early, we soon found ourselves sat outside this lovely little building at around 5am so while waiting for UE-OMJ to wake up, we took a look inside!

Little Parish School

Visit Date: January 2014

This tiny little old parish school house lies abandoned and hiding amongst the trees and ivy in a little place called Shirburn.

The Parish School had been established by 1808 and by 1871 it was described as occupying a cottage that had been converted into a school house. In 1946, it was recognised as a junior school and in 1950, Shirburn School was closed leaving this tiny building abandoned and exposed to the elements.
