About Beyond The Lens Photography!
In 2012, founder, Shaun Ashford, began photographing abandoned and disused buildings around the UK, posting the results within online forums, hidden away from public view. Wanting to share his adventures with the world, allowing others to step inside forbidden places, “UrbexPhotography.co.uk” was born. Throughout a 4 year period, more than 1000 abandoned buildings and structures were visited, explored, documented and shared across the world on our website and within the national media.
In 2017, the love of photography took a more commercial turn when Shaun became a member of the UK and International Press, working as a freelance Photojournalist, specialising in breaking news and investigative pieces.
In 2020, our work and explorations quickly came to an end due to the Covid-
All of the photographs on this website is available to purchase in both digital and print format and all cinematic footage is available to purchase in digital format. We also have our very own “stock shop” allowing media outlets, journalists, students or anybody for that matter to purchase low cost stock photography, videographic and cinematic footage.
