CARDIFF BAY SUSPECTED ACID ATTACK PROMPTS EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Incident Summary

A multi-agency emergency response including South Wales Police and South Wales Fire & Rescue Service descended upon Cardiff Bay this evening following reports of an altercation within the Las Iguanas restaurant leading to a suspected corrosive substance being thrown.

South Wales Police have stated that they do not believe the substance to be harmful at this time but continue to investigate this incident.

1. Initial call made at around 8.20pm. Cordon lifted at around 11.10pm with several  officers remaining on the scene.
