CARDIFF HOME BATTERED BY FALLING TREE LEAVES WINDOWS AND DOORS SMASHED

07/12/2024

Incident Summary

A home on Grand Avenue, Ely, has been left smashed after a tree fell down during the early hours of December 7 2024, just as Storm Darragh made its first appearance within Wales.

Samuel, resident of the property told us, “It was 2.52am when the tree came crashing down, smashing everything. Thankfully nobody was hurt”.

He also explained that he tried contacting Cardiff Council in the days leading up to the storm to raise concerns about the tree outside his home.

The fallen tree left the properties front windows completely smashed, the front door significantly damaged, telephone cables down and guttering dangling down the property for several hours before Cardiff Council staff were able to attend to assist.
